I have to admit that yesterday I was a bit nervous about the Vikings - Bears games in the Metrodome. The Bears hadn't won there in 5 years and it was looking like that was going to be the case once again. The offense couldn't run the ball and the passing game seemed to be on pause. But then came the 4th quarter and Grossman punched in his first 4th quarter TD of his career. And props must be given to the bears D as they came up huge....
On a sour note, with 1:59 left in the game, FOX decides to switch over the the Eagle - 49ers game cause the Bear's game went long. "No.. No... Nooo... You are not doing this to me!" I started to yell at the TV... All cause of the 49er game... Poor showing Fox... Party Foul...
Sorry this is a bit late, but I got sidetracked.
So I don't watch much soccer since it isn't on TV all that much, but did you see the USA get robbed when they played Italy? I was impressed by the USA squad, they came out of the gate and dominated the match and they made Italy look like the underdog.
Enter in the refree. This poor smuck make it impossible to play an aggressive game. He blew so many calls that the TV announcers where saying that he should withdraw from the match. Incredible.. Fortunately the USA team came out of it with a point, but they will have to play the next match minus two guys.
Just let them play within reason.
This weekend was very good for the A's. First time since '94 the A's went into the Bronx and swept the Yankees. Please note that this is huge since Rich Harden is on the DL, Bobby Crosby missed the series with a hand injury and Frank Thomas has a bum leg. Granted the A's are not in 1st in their division, but we're only 2 games out.
Billy Beane explains that the first 1/3 of the season is looking over what you got and what missing pieces there are. The next 1/3 is going after those parts you need to fill in the gaps and the last 1/3 is putting it all together.
GO A's!
What a great day this is. Officially yesterday was the start the the 2006 MLB season, but today is when all the action gets going. Right now I am going to call it. The Oakland A's will win the World Series. We have the best 1 thru 5 starting pitching rotation in all of MLB. On top of that our defense is rock solid. Now you might say that pitching and defense are not all that wins championships, true very true. Our offense isn't the best, but I will admit the addition of Bradley and Thomas offer the protection that Chavez needs. Again, I will say it... The A's will win it all this year.
